The Baptist Convention of NM hosted a Region 1 Incident Management Training this week. Ed and Loretta Greene helped 28 volunteers hone their skills so that states in our Region can manage deployments in our Region of the SBDR which is huge.  Attendees were from AK, AZ, CA, UT/ID, NV, & NM attended.  For pictures go to our FB page.

 Director's Message

“Thank You!” for giving of yourself by serving others in Texas last month after the wildfires destroyed homes and many acres of grasslands.  In March NMBDR sent a team of 11 Recovery Volunteers to Canadian, TX to help clear home sites of debris. Owners may now begin the process of rebuilding their homes.

NMBDR also had a generous donation of Alfalfa that will be delivered (truck and drivers also donated) this week to Canadian.

New Mexico Baptist Disaster Relief can only exist by your faithfulness and commitment to step out and do the “good works” that God has prepared specifically for you.

For we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them.  Ephesians 2:10

Over the past years NMBDR volunteers have responded across cities and towns, across New Mexico, across the nation, and even across the ocean to bring Help, Hope, and Healing to those suffering loss.  By investing yourself in helping people recover from widespread or personal disaster and grow in Christ you have lived His command to let the light of life in you shine before others for the glory of God.

In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.  Matthew 5:16

Now we need God’s people who are called by His name to join with us in His ministry.  For our volunteers to Go, Serve, and Share in Jesus’ name…for even the least of these requires your financial support.  NMBDR is funded by your donations and the cost of deployments, operations, equipment, and supplies requires your ongoing contributions.

To make your donations you may send a check to the Baptist Convention of New Mexico.  On your check designate Disaster Relief.  To donate online please click on the link below, use the “select a fund” dropdown menu to specify DISASTER RELIEF.

Again, our sincere appreciation to all of you who are working diligently for the Kingdom.

Much will be required of everyone who has been given much. And even more will be expected of the one who has been entrusted with more.  Luke 12:48
