  J0IN NMBDR

Joining and serving with New Mexico Baptist Disaster Relief requires sacrifice and commitment not everyone is ready or willing to make.  That’s what makes NMBDR volunteers elite. They are set apart, chosen by God because of their commitment to respond in obedience to the repeated Biblical commands to be servants through action (1 John 3:18; James 2:15-16).

They place the needs of others ahead of themselves, taking seriously the command to “go…and make disciples” by providing practical, hands-on help to hurting people. They go, serve and share, not from compulsion, but from compassion, even when it is inconvenient, even when it is difficult, even when it requires personal sacrifice, even “for the least of these.”

A 2-hour orientation "Introduction to New Mexico Baptist Disaster Relief" explains what, why, and how we serve, and the commitment required. Those who step forward will complete an application packet and be sent a link for an online background check.  Once completed, new volunteers are issued official credentials and are eligible to begin going, serving and sharing in Jesus’ name. Opportunities for additional training are scheduled throughout the year.

If anyone has this world’s goods and sees his brother in need but closes his eyes to his need—how can God’s love reside in him?
